It only takes one look at the 2015 runways to see that vintage styles are back on trend ,with brands like Chloe, Burberry and Alexander McQueen all redesigning iconic looks from the past and bringing them into the modern day. Vintage has made a huge comeback in today’s fashion with current trends such as suede being a homage to the seventies and denim to the nineties. Plus with sixties’ style prints set to be hard hitters in 2016 its obvious more and more people are looking to history to influence their style.

The same goes for interiors too, as antique trinkets and period fixtures to vintage furniture remains popular.

The Vintage Corner

St. John’s road, Waterloo, L22

This independent store which opened last year promises genuine vintage, hand-picked with the customer in mind giving the store and its stock a more personal feel. It specialises in women’s clothing that ranges from the 1950s to 1980’s mainly, ensuring there’s something for everyone, regardless of their personal style. The Vintage Corner describes its stock as either classic or crazy but glamorous nonetheless. This hidden gem outside the city centre is open 10 am- 5pm on Monday and Tuesday, 11am-7pm Thursday, and 10am-5pm Friday and Saturday.

69A

Renshaw Street, L1

69A offer almost everything you could look for when it comes to vintage shopping. With stock dating back to the 1300’s its easy to see how 69A has got a name for itself as one of the best places to find vintage products in the North West. It stocks everything from 1960’s ankle boots, to Victorian teapots, to 17^th Century Chinese paperweights. 69A has been trading since 1976 and so is long established, with a well of experience in the field. The online shop only features a small portion of its products so its well worth going and checking out the Renshaw Street store which is open Monday-Sunday 12-6pm.

Gasp

Lucherne Street, L17

Gasp, the sister store to Lark Lane’s Larks, is the ultimate find for anyone interested in vintage furniture. With a 2,000 sq ft warehouse just off Liverpool’s bohemian hub Lark Lane, Gasp offers an extensive mix of vintage furniture that comes from different periods across the 20^th Century, as well as the odd piece from further back in time. Gasp has established itself as a Merseyside hotspots for those who want individual furniture pieces. You can visit the warehouse on Lucherne Street 11am-5pm Wednesday to Sunday.

Grand Central Hall

Renshaw Street, L1

Renshaw Street arcade, Grand Central, is the ultimate treasure trove for anyone looking for genuine, vintage clothing, with many small stores offering a wide range of products. Among the many outlets in Grand Central Hall you’ll find Total Recall offering men’s and women’s recycled fashion at affordable prices, as well as Miss Millie’s which can be seen as one of the ultimate finds for those wanting accessories that have stood the test of time. The building is also home to Preserved Vintage clothing which promises evening wear, the iconic from bygone eras, and Somewhere in Time offering vintage clothing, accessories and furniture, among many other great stores. Grand Central Hall is open from 10am – 5.30pm Monday to Saturday and 12-4pm on Sundays however some smaller stores have their own opening hours so its worth checking those out before you go.

Pop Boutique

Bold Street, L1

One of the most established names in the Liverpool vintage fashion scene, Pop Boutique offers an extensive range of vintage clothing as well as its own brand of vintage inspired garments. The Bold Street store offers a substantial collection of clothes for men and women as well as a range of accessories and shoes. Pop has been in the city for around 10 years, and has created a large following of customers. The brand now also has stores in Leeds, London and Manchester as well as one in Sweden. You can visit the Bold Street store from 10am-6.30pm Monday to Saturday and 11am-5pm Sunday.

Resurrection

Bold Street, L1

With clothes ranging mainly from the 1980’s to 1990’s, Resurrection offers a more modern twist to vintage shopping. With denim, checked shirts and playsuits being some of its key vintage pieces, they allow vintage shopping to appeal to a wider audience. Resurrection also has someone in store that can alter denim clothes and is beginning work with Liverpool university students to help create more custom pieces, enhancing the one-of-a-kind experience that comes with vintage shopping.

Lindy’s Vintage Boutique

Gostins Arcade, Hanover Street, L1

This tucked away boutique inside the city centre’s Gostins Arcade offers a prime collection of vintage-style clothes and accessories as well as some genuine vintage products. Founded in November 2014, Lindy’s offers high quality, vintage inspired clothing and accessories with the main focus being around the 1940’s and 1950’s era. Lindy’s prides itself on its extensive size range with products ranging from a size 6 to a size 32, allowing vintage styles to be worn by anyone regardless of size.   As well as this, Lindy’s has begun making some hand-made garments, allowing customers the opportunity to have a say in the designs they wear.
