Liverpool’s historic former Newsham Park Hospital has been brought to the market for potential residential conversion.

The Victorian Grade II-listed brick building, which was designed by well-known architect Alfred Waterhouse circa 1871, was initially built as the Royal Liverpool Seamen’s Orphanage and was opened by HRH Duke of Edinburgh in 1874, before being visited by Queen Victoria in 1886. It was later used as a school and a hospital and has more recently been a venue for ghost-themed events and weddings.

The property, which is around 90,000 sq ft and set within approximately three acres of land, has been put up for sale through property consultants David Currie & Co.
