New home for Zanzibar’s live music performances

A Seel Street club that has been central to Liverpool’s emerging music scene for the past 30 years will move its live band performances to a new venue from next month.

The Zanzibar Club will close its doors on 1 November, with live shows relocating just a few hundred yards up the street to the basement of Heebie Jeebies.

A new name for the live music venue at Heebies will be announced soon. Meanwhile, the Zanzibar itself will be refurbished, with more details coming in the very near future.

The Zanzibar Club, established in 1990 by Tony Butler, has been a cornerstone of Liverpool’s live music scene for over three decades.

Renowned for its intimate atmosphere and commitment to emerging talent, the venue has hosted both local acts such as The Coral and The Zutons, as well as international artists including Noel Gallagher and The Kooks.
