Construction work has started on a new development of “thoughtfully designed” sustainable family homes in Halewood.
Located on Dacre Avenue, off Baileys Lane, The Acorns by Ashberry Homes comprises 78 timber frame properties (made up of 52 private plots and 26 affordable homes).
Homes at The Acorns are being built using timber frame construction instead of the traditional brick and block method. The approach is expected to improve energy efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and speed up construction times. Timber frame homes also have a long-standing track record for durability and longevity.
Taking its name from the oak trees in Halewood, the development will offer a mix of three and four-bedroom house types with flexible spaces for modern family living and is expected to appeal to a range of homebuyers including first time buyers, young professionals, growing families and older couples.
Jenny Bell, sales director at Ashberry Homes, says: “The Acorns enjoys an enviable location in well-connected Halewood and will offer a range of high quality, highly desirable properties for those looking for a stylish, three or four bedroom home within easy reach of Liverpool, Chester and Manchester.
“In addition to being beautifully designed inside and out, homes at The Acorns benefit from our future-focussed technology ensuring they are both energy efficient and sustainable meaning lower energy bills for homeowners and a lower carbon footprint for the environment.”
Homebuyers at The Acorns will be able to explore the construction process through a dedicated ‘House to Home’ plot tour, offering a behind-the-scenes look at timber frame building in practice.
With construction underway, the first phase of properties has been released and the first reservations taken. The development is currently being sold from Ashberry’s regional office. A sales centre is due to open on site in November and a showhome planned to welcome visitors from early 2026.
