A Market Village will open in Prescot Shopping Centre next month giving local makers the chance to showcase their crafts.
Operator Groupe Geraud, which owns the retail complex, hopes the new venture will follow the success of Market Village concepts in Wallsend and Glasgow to provide an alternative shopping destination to the high street.
Following its April launch, Prescot Market Village be open to shoppers from Monday to Saturday between 9am and 5pm.
Groupe Geraud is looking to bring a variety of artisan traders to the site, selling household goods, clothing, jewellery and other crafts.
Philip Lamb, managing director of Geraud UK, says: “Groupe Geraud Market Villages offer a great opportunity for businesses to trade whether they are a start-up craft company or an experienced market seller.
“Our markets provide an environment for businesses to grow without the worry of expensive shop overheads. The welcoming environment of a Market Village is truly the perfect traders’ floor.”
The market will be open to casual traders and longer term stall holders, with sellers having access to free electricity, parking and storage spaces.
