Residents at a Liverpool Waters apartment development are set to benefit from new technology designed to help them monitor energy consumption and reduce household bills.
Developer Romal Capital is working with smart-home technology specialist Nifty Places to introduce additional energy-management features at Aquitania, a 135-apartment scheme.
All apartments at the development already feature integrated smart lighting and heating systems, which residents can control using wall switches, tablets, voice commands or a mobile app.
The latest improvements will provide residents with clearer information about their energy usage, helping them identify opportunities to reduce waste through heating schedules, temperature controls and remote management.
The new features will be introduced gradually, with participating residents invited to provide feedback before the technology is made available more widely.
Greg Malouf, CEO of Romal Capital, says: “Our commitment to residents continues long after they move into their new home.
“By working with Nifty, we are continuing to improve the technology within the apartments and explore practical ways to help residents understand their energy use and manage their household costs.”
Curtis Ashworth, founder and managing director of Nifty Places, adds: “Smart-home technology is about much more than energy saving. It should make everyday life easier and continue delivering new benefits over time.
“By building on the smart lighting, heating, voice and app controls already used at Aquitania, we can introduce useful new functionality while helping residents make more informed choices about their energy use.”
The companies hope the improvements will help residents make more informed decisions about their energy consumption, potentially reducing both household costs and the environmental impact of everyday living.
