Bruntwood Works, in partnership with Graffiti Spirits Group (GSG), is bringing a brand new restaurant, bar and coffee shop to Liverpool as part of the “transformational re-imagining” of the Plaza office building.
‘The Plaza Restaurant and Bar’ is set to open in summer 2021, “creating a flagship eating and drinking destination for the wider commercial district and the city of Liverpool”.
It will include a restaurant, bar and coffee shop operated by Liverpool hospitality brand GSG – the group behind Duke Street Food and Drink Market, Bold Street Coffee, Salt Dog Slim’s and 81 Ltd.
Bruntwood Works says guests can expect a “relaxed, all-day brasserie dining experience including breakfast and brunch where modern European dishes sit alongside classic British favourites”.
There will also be a wide, varied and local beer list, alongside an “expertly curated” wine list, featuring predominantly vegan wines plus a large range of organic and biodynamic varieties.
Complementing the bar and restaurant will be Graffiti Spirits Group’s Bold Street Coffee brand. Guests will be able to pick up all their Bold Street favourites – from breakfast and brunch (including their “butties, bakes and buoys”) to an extensive grab and go offering. A pop-up retail space hosted by independent brands will also be in situ.
The Plaza office building at St Paul’s Square is currently in the midst of being re-imagined by Bruntwood Works via a major £3 million transformation to create a ‘Pioneer’ workspace environment that’s designed to build and enhance community connection.
Matthew Farrell, co-founder and director of GSG Hospitality, says: “We thought long and hard about the concept for this iconic location and we decided that, ultimately, the building is the destination, and that our operation should celebrate that.
“This is a new concept for us and we’re really excited about it. Our vision is to create a welcoming, laid-back space – an immersive lobby experience where doing emails over coffee blends seamlessly with drinking cocktails with friends.
“The food will be quality, considered, no nonsense, with a sustainable ethos and use of local suppliers.
“There’s going to be a large grill element to get stuck into from breakfast through to dinner where we’re going to showcase some brilliant produce. The Plaza is an incredible location and we can’t wait to get stuck in!”
Colin Forshaw, regional director of Bruntwood Works, adds: “We are really excited to share the plans for the restaurant and bar concept at The Plaza.
“Our ambition was always to make this an exceptional experience for the businesses in the building, as well as creating a destination for the wider city centre community.
“Working with the renowned Graffiti Spirits Group has allowed us to bring that vision to life. Matt, John and his team are an absolute tour de force in the industry and their plans for The Plaza are as exciting, and well considered, as we would expect.
“As we keep improving the working environment for our customers, lifestyle and wellness is central to our goals. We can’t wait to bring the new Plaza experience to Liverpool.”
