The British Music Experience (BME) has announced a new residents’ pass which gives anyone with an ‘L’ postcode unlimited entry for the price of a single adult ticket.

The pass, which grants access to the BME thorough its Summer Holidays Programme, costs £16 and lasts for one year.

The Summer Holidays Programme features daily musical themed story time sessions, dream catcher crafting workshops and access to the Gibson Interactive Instrument Studio.

Pass holders will also be notified about special events taking place at the BME, such as the ‘In Conversation With’ series, which includes forthcoming talks from music photographer Kevin Cummins and an exclusive evening of talks celebrating the late X-Ray Spex star, Poly Styrene.

Mayor of Liverpool Joe Anderson (pictured) says: “The BME is a brilliant new attraction in Liverpool and we are excited to have it here.

“I’m delighted to be able to announce a residents pass for L postcodes which gives the people of Liverpool the chance to visit time and time again and enjoy the story of British music here in our city.”

Judith Owens, director of operations, adds: “Liverpool residents have a fantastic musical knowledge in a city with a unique music history. We are keen to welcome residents to celebrate the story of british music and enjoy the changing exhibits, events and workshops that we will deliver throughout the year”.

The current collection boasts outfits worn by artists such as Freddie Mercury, David Bowie and Dusty Springfield, as well as musical instruments played by Noel Gallagher and the Sex Pistols.

Other highlights include hand written song lyrics from Adele, the original statues from the Brit Awards and the Apple Corp front door from Saville Row.
