South Liverpool Homes launches Shared Ownership homes in Speke with Redwing

South Liverpool Homes (SLH) has launched the first phase of new homes at its major redevelopment project, South Parade, in Speke.

The first phase comprises 20 Shared Ownership properties within the wider 92-home scheme.

The homes are being marketed and sold by Liverpool-based property agency Redwing, which specialises in Shared Ownership and affordable homeownership.

Properties at South Parade have been built to EPC A standards and include solar panels, electric heating and electric vehicle charging points.

Prices start at £20,250 for a 10% share of a two-bedroom home and £25,250 for a 10% share of a three-bedroom property. Buyers pay rent on the remaining share.

The wider development will include homes available through Shared Ownership, Rent to Buy, affordable rent and social rent. The scheme comprises two, three and four-bedroom houses, bungalows and apartments.

Adam Smith, director of development, South Liverpool Homes, says: “South Parade is a great example of how we can bring unused land back into use to create high-quality, affordable homes that meet the needs of local people.

“With more than 2,000 people currently on our waiting list, we’re committed to increasing the supply of homes across a range of tenures, whether that’s affordable rent, social rent, Rent to Buy or Shared Ownership.

“We’re delighted to be launching the first Shared Ownership homes at South Parade, helping more people take their first step onto the property ladder in a way that’s affordable and achievable.

“This development will provide 92 mixed tenure energy-efficient homes in total and forms part of our wider ambition to deliver 780 new homes across Speke and Garston by 2032, creating more housing choices and opportunities for local communities.”

Jessica Turner, head of sales, lettings and partnerships, Redwing, adds: “We’re thrilled to play a part in this fantastic project with South Liverpool Homes. South Parade is a collection of affordable, well-designed homes in Speke.

“We’ve already received a lot of interest and enquiries and expect homes to be fully reserved in the coming weeks.”
