122-room hotel part of amended Wolstenholme Square plans

A new 122-room hotel forms part of amendments to Elliot Group’s Wolstenholme Square plans in Liverpool.

The revised proposals include the removal of plans to refurbish a warehouse at 5 Parr Street into a nightclub and 15 studio apartments.

The Ropewalks warehouse, which was near to the former Nation nightclub, was destroyed by fire in June 2016.

Zerum, which has submitted the amendments to Liverpool City Council on behalf of the Elliot Group, has suggested two possible options for the vacant land including temporary landscaping and a new seven-storey apartment block with ground floor commercial space.

Meanwhile over on Seel Street, original plans for a five to seven-storey building comprising a 42-room apart-hotel have also been revised.

The new application seeks to instead create a “standard hotel” with 122 rooms and a restaurant/bar on the ground floor

The total finished development will deliver five blocks ranging in height from three to 10 storeys, providing 447 studio and one bedroom apartments as well as a new passageway through to Seel Street, lined by shops, cafés and offices.

Newry Construction has been on-site since August 2016 and is expected to complete works by February 2018.
