A Liverpool policeman renowned for his charity and community work around Croxteth, Norris Green and Clubmoor is set to retire in the new year.
PC Robert Pritchard, who has raised thousands of pounds for charities and organised various events for local youths, has been presented with a farewell gift on behalf of the community to thank him for his contributions.
Known affectionately as Robby the Bobby, Robert has been arranging discos youth clubs, and football events for the last 20 years, as well as visiting schools to give talks to students in a bid to discourage them from turning to anti-social behaviour.
He held his final half term activities last week and was presented with the retirement gift at Croxteth Sports Centre.
Paying tribute to Robert, Croxteth Councillor Anthony Lavelle, says: “I want to send warm wishes to Robby the Bobby on his planned retirement in January next year.
“He’s been a massive part of the community in Croxteth, the positive work he’s done over the years in the community has shaped a lot of young people’s futures.
“I hope that one day I’m as successful in my career as Robby the Bobby has been in his. His retirement is our loss and his absence in Croxteth will be felt by the community.”
