A number of significant city centre schemes have been recommended for approval by Liverpool City Council’s planning committee next Tuesday (13 June).

Developments on the agenda include the creation of a 306-bed boutique hotel in the Baltic Triangle, 145 flats on Parliament Street and an office to residential conversion on Water Street.

The planning committee will also debate plans to construct two four-storey blocks of flats near St Anthony’s Church on Scotland Road and the erection of a two-story extension to provide an extra 20 apartments at Irwell Chambers on Union Street.

However, arguably the most eye-catching item on next week’s agenda is the 306-bed hotel.

The ambitious development from local restaurant and hotel brand Vincent includes 50 ‘over-sized’ serviced apartments, basement event space and an outdoor circuit training terrace.

Split into 15-storey and 14-storey blocks, plans also feature a rooftop restaurant, a spa and a gym.

The Vincent Residence & Hotel would be the fourth property in Paul Adams’ Liverpool portfolio to go alongside the Vincent café and cocktail bar, the Times Hotel on Seel Street and the Vincent Asian Kitchen on Bold Street.

Speaking in January about the plans, Paul said: “The development has a great waterfront location with superb views and guests will feel they have chosen to stay in a very special place.

“We will naturally aim to ensure the product and service offering is in keeping with the neighbourhood story as well as satisfying the exacting demands of today’s busy leisure and business traveller.”

If planning permission is granted as expected, construction work should start on site this summer.
