Homes set to go under the hammer at Smith and Sons auction

A total of 26 lots will go under the hammer, ranging from DIY projects to homes that are ready to move in, as the latest Smith and Sons auction nears.

Highlights of the auction, which takes place at the Village Hotel in Bromborough on 25 February at 2pm, include two four-bedroom homes in Wallasey that are in need of refurbishment, a seven-bedroom detached house in Birkenhead and two flats in New Brighton.

Residential investments include a regulated tenancy at Bolton Road East, four apartments in Rock Lane East with a yield of 17% and Alvega Close, New Ferry which is a modern semi detached house close to the river front.

Auctioneer Smith and Sons says more people are accessing finance for buy-to-let properties or to buy the house for occupation and this will be reflected in the auction.

Chris Johnson, auctioneer at Smith and Sons, says: “The properties in our next auction are incredibly varied and will appeal to different types of buyers. Access to finance at all levels affects the type of people who visit the auction and with an increase in lending and a more positive market, we have started to see a more diverse customer base.”
