A £39 million plan to revive Liverpool’s Lime Street is recommended for approval next week.
Regeneration Liverpool and Neptune Developments are behind the proposed major mixed-use scheme which would create new leisure and retail space, a 101-bedroom hotel and new student accommodation.
The plans, which would include the refurbishment and demolition of Lime Street buildings between the Grade II-listed Crown hotel pub and Grade II*-listed Vines pub, including the demolition of The Futurist, have been revised after concerns were raised over the design of the development in original proposals.
A report to be discussed by Liverpool City Council’s planning committee on Tuesday 11 August, says: “The scheme will contribute towards a sustainable mix of uses in an accessible location, benefiting the local economy and providing enhanced employment prospects.”
