A derelict piece of land on Wood Street could be transformed into a five-storey mixed-use development under new plans.
The proposals, submitted to Liverpool City Council, include four self-contained apartments and a food/drink venue on the ground floor.
A planning document included in the application prepared by Liverpool-based NS Architects states that the development will look to add to the area’s “multitude of coffee shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs” whilst providing “much needed high quality young person accommodation”.
The document adds that the development will be in-keeping with surrounding buildings and will “introduce yet another contemporary architectural element” to Ropewalks.
If approved, the development would sit at the top of Wood Street next door to Kentucky Fried Chicken and opposite the Cabin Club, which is currently being transformed into ‘Electric’, a new restaurant from the team behind Salt House Tapas, Hanover Street Social and Bacaro.
