Art fans will be able to tour the studios of some of the Liverpool City Region’s talented creatives this summer.

Details of the eighth Wirral Open Studios Tour have been announced, with more than 50 professional and semi-professional artists and 30 venues lined up to take part in the showcase.

The 10-11 June event will enable visitors to explore studio and exhibition spaces, homes and gardens across Wirral to see chat and engage with painters, photographers, printmakers, potters, glass designers, illustrators and textile artists.

Ahead of the initiative, which has been running since 2009, organisers say: “In turn, we hope the informal and relaxing setting of the event will allow visitors understand our artists’ inspirations and creative techniques, share in their passion for creative arts and help celebrate this eminently popular culture-filled Wirral weekend.”

Visitors can download a map online and plan their own route across the sites participating in the tour, which is said to have attracted more than 1,500 people from across the North West in 2015 and 2016.
