Ex-fashion buyer, Kassi Roach started creating juices in her kitchen before opening her flagship raw juice bar in Crosby. You can pop in or have the juices delivered, and they promise to increase nutrient absorption and get you glowing from the inside. For something sweet but healthy, try the detox version of a banana milkshake: almond milk, frozen banana, raw cacao, dates and agave nectar.
Old Hall Street, L3
A juice bar has been added to this wellness centre to help you maintain a balanced nutritional lifestyle. For a full detox experience, those sampling the fruit and vegetable drinks can also take on one-day and three-day cleanses subject to a medical questionnaire. The stand out juice is the Honeydew Melon Heaven with a parsley and ‘mojito’ kick.
15-21 Parr Street, L1 4JN
Liverpool’s resident dry bar and recovery social enterprise has not been left behind the juice bandwagon, and even sells gorgeous smoothies for when you want to treat yourself. They recommend the Beetroot juice, which also contains carrot, celery, apple, ginger and a squeeze of fresh lime.
8 Cooks Road, L23 2TB
Recently named as one of the top juice bars in the UK by MSN.com, Mojoes offers a vast range of juice and smoothies with a friendly atmosphere. Inspired by owner Joe McMeakin’s travels to Austrailia, New Zealand and California and holding the motto, “We don’t do fast food, we do fresh food as fast as we can”, Mojoes is more than just your average juice bar. Our favourite is the Tropical Paradise, a mix of banana, pineapple, coconut milk and pineapple juice, perfect to get you away from those winter blues.
Unit C2a, The Colonnades, L3
A hidden gem in Albert Dock, the Funky Shake bar has a spectrum of shakes, smoothies as well as fresh fusion juices to decide from. You can also add boosters such as Slender Blend or a Vit C booster so you get exactly what you want out of your beverage. A top pick is the Detox smoothie, which blends blackcurrants, apple, pomegranate, strawberries and pineapple juice. They also offer a selection of gourmet chocolate and sweets for those not dieting this New Year!
1 Arrad Street, L7 7JE
A favourite for students, Font Bar is known for its huge array of juice and fruit-based cocktails. It may be alcoholic, but it’s still technically juice right? You can guarantee that if the students flock there, it’s also sure to not be budget-busting prices, with cocktails starting at only £2. ‘Kiss From Ruby’ has got to be mentioned, blending orange and pineapple juice with strawberry liqueur, peach schnapps and a dash of grenadine. There are also mocktails on the menu, including a non-alcoholic Mojito, Calypso and ‘Very English’ lemonade.
