The regeneration of Crosby Village has moved a step closer after proposals for new shopping outlets were given the green light.

Sefton Council has approved St. Modwen’s plans to convert Glenn Buildings South into retail units and construct additional store space at 10 Moor Lane.

The regeneration specialist has also revealed plans to refurbish Glenn Buildings North to create three more retail units with new shop fronts and revamp the upper floor.

David Nuttall, development manager at St. Modwen, says: “Since acquiring the Glenn Buildings in Crosby, we have been working hard to prepare a quality proposal to ensure their future and to breathe new life into the village centre.

“We are committed to Crosby and our plans will provide accommodation suitable for modern retailers, whilst maintaining the look and feel of the traditional high street. We are delighted to have received considerable positive feedback from residents and retailers, and we hope to move forward with these works as soon as is practical.”

St. Modwen is also in the process of regenerating Kirkby town centre, with a new supermarket, shops, cinema car parking and improved pedestrian links on the way.
