A property developer is calling on Liverpool artists to help breathe life into the ‘chill out’ courtyard at its new student accommodation.

Yu Property Group (YPG) is putting the finishing touches to the Bateson Building project on Henry Street in Liverpool city centre, having taken over the site after a scheme by a previous developer fell through, and is looking to commission a number of talented creatives to paint murals on its outdoor feature wall.

The wall is a backdrop to an exterior communal space which will also feature artificial grass and seating, and will be overlooked by seven floors of en suite student rooms and shared kitchen and living areas.

Describing the new offering as ‘boutique student accommodation’, Jonathan Yu of YPG says: “We’re trying to make the property feel as warm as possible because it’s a home from home.

“We’re looking for some artists to do paintings on the wall associated with Liverpool, how it’s booming and its history, and in the middle we’d like our logo.”
