A team of fundraisers from Liverpool’s John McCall Architects have raised more than £3,700 for charity in memory of a friend and colleague.
Dave Smith, Andy Howie and Joanne Mountfield from the Henry Street-based practice were joined by Simon Hooson from Griffiths & Armour Insurance Brokers and Adrian Rogers of Brabners LLP as they took on a grueling 173-mile bike ride.
The group participated in the Coast 2 Coast challenge from Whitehaven to Tynmouth, which took place across three days this month, in honour of Paul Moscardini who died of cancer in 2014.
As John McCall Architects, which delivers numerous housing projects, celebrates its 25th year in 2016, the fundraisers had set out to collect a target total of £2,500 for Marie Curie, which supported Paul’s family throughout his illness.
However, they have already collected over £3,700 with donations still being made following the successful completion of the 2-4 June bike ride.
The Moscardini family showed their support for the team during the challenge, as they made a surprise visit to Bellingham during the end of day two to cheer on the participants.
Meanwhile members of Liverpool Water Polo Club, of which Paul was captain and goalkeeper, also joined the cyclists for one-day stints across the three days.

“Marie Curie is such a wonderful charity and does amazing work, and it was an honour to be raising money for such a great cause.”
