The Giants set to roam Liverpool and Wirral streets during Royal de Luxe’s forthcoming ‘Liverpool’s Dream’ spectacular have been revealed.
Jean-Luc Courcoult, founder and creative director of the French street theatre company, has also confirmed the 4-7 October show will be the final outing for the family of Giants which also trawled the city in 2012 and 2014.
The Little Boy Giant – the brother of the Little Girl Giant – will make his UK debut in the Liverpool City Region alongside popular canine companion Xolo and the 33ft-high Giant.
Royal de Luxe created the Little Boy Giant in 1997, inspired after working in African villages, and he was premiered in Cameroon.
Reaching 20ft high, he weighs 600kg and will require 27 Lilliputians to assist him on his journey through Liverpool and Wirral.
Meanwhile the 33ft Giant weighs 2.5 tonnes and is able to move at 2km per hour. It’ll take 44 Lilliputians to move his steel, lime and poplar wood body which also features hair made of horsehair, eyelashes made from broom hair and eyes made of streetlamp lights moved by small motors.

Speaking during a press conference in Liverpool earlier today (18 September), Jean-Luc said the family will be retired after their third and final visit to the city.
He said: “I have made a firm decision to end this saga of the giants. If we carry on doing the same thing it wouldn’t churn up the same emotion in people but, at the same time, I am very sad.
“It must be 25 years since we did the first show but, just like Monty Python, the comedy must move on.”
Royal de Luxe, which has been producing shows with the characters since 1993, is now working on a new show featuring a silverback gorilla.
Mayor of Liverpool Joe Anderson says: “It’s a huge coup for Liverpool to stage the last ever Giants event, and final preparations are being put in place to ensure the Little Boy, Xolo and the Giant are given the most spectacular send-off.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Jean-Luc and the rest of the Royal de Luxe team for the pleasure they have brought to the hundreds of thousands of people lucky enough to enjoy their creations and I wish them luck with the exciting new chapter they are about to embark on.”
The full route the Giants will travel around Liverpool and Wirral was revealed last week.
