Hands-on Eye for Colour exhibition to return to Liverpool

World Museum visitors can explore the science of colour when a popular hands-on exhibition returns this month.

Marking its 10th anniversary, the free family-friendly ‘Eye for Colour’ display originally created by National Museums Liverpool will head back to the city venue from 22 January until 4 September and promises to alert the senses and simulate the mind with its interactive features.

Attractions including the Mood Room, which allows visitors to find out more about how colour can affect feelings and how we enjoy food; to the Artist’s Palette, which illustrates how pigments are made as well as their past ingredients such as cow’s urine; will form part of the exhibition, along with a chance for young explorers to dress up, build rainbows and discover how animals see colour.

Ahead of the exhibition’s return World Museum director, Steve Judd, says: “In the past decade ‘Eye for Colour’ has been seen by more than a million people across Europe and we are over the moon – or I should say over the rainbow – that it’s returning to World Museum!”

A programme of free events including arts and crafts sessions will run alongside the display.

‘Eye for Colour’ was funded by the National Lottery through the Millennium Commission.
