Hong Kong street food heading to Albert Dock

Hong Kong’s most popular takeaway delicacy is heading to Albert Dock.

Puffle Waffle will introduce its egg waffle cones filled with everything from ice cream to meatballs to Liverpudlians later this week.

The brainchild of Liverpool entrepreneur and managing director, Kenneth Cheung, Puffle Waffle will be located at Anchor Courtyard at Albert Dock.

Visitors to the new venue will also be able to sample modern fusion fillings like the super-sized, ‘Super Massive Meatball’.

Speaking ahead of the opening, Kenneth (pictured below) says: “All I can say is that once you taste a Puffle Waffle, you will never forget it! Imagine the tastiest waffle of your life – made fresh to order, crispy and soft in equal measure, shareable and bitesize. It’s the perfect accompaniment to a visit to the fantastic Albert Dock.

“As a child growing up in Hong Kong, this was the everyday street food of choice – and it continues to be the top-selling street food there to this day. It is our mission to share the Puffle Waffle experience with the people of Liverpool.

“The concept has popped up in other parts of the world, but we are unique in the fact that we use an age-old, traditional recipe that was created by my late grandfather, Sau Cheung, who was a successful restauranteur in Hong Kong for most of his life. This, combined with our unusual flavourings, makes for a unique culinary experience to suit all palates.”

Puffle Waffle at Albert Dock will open this Saturday (21 October).
