Popular restaurant Maray could be joining a growing list of eateries heading to Royal Albert Dock Liverpool.

The small plates venue, which has locations on Bold Street and Allerton Road, has submitted a planning application to fit out space at Britannia Pavilion.

FalafAle Ltd, operating as Maray, is behind proposals requesting listed building consent from Liverpool City Council to fit out Units 4 (ground floor) and 27 (mezzanine) at Britannia Pavilion for use as a restaurant.

The vacant space was last occupied by the Leather Satchel Company and is currently subject to an on-going application to allow change of use to A3/restaurant use.

A document included with the application reads: “The proposed works are minimal in scale and scope and are in line with the fit-out required for the occupation of a unit of this scale for A3 restaurant use.

“The proposed fit out will allow the units to be brought back into a viable economic use in keeping with use of the wider Albert Dock site as a prime leisure, dining and retail destination within Liverpool.”

Launched in a former clothes shop on Bold Street in 2014, Maray opened its second site on Allerton Road in 2017.

Last September, ‘Great British Menu’ finalist Ellis Barrie revealed plans to open a new restaurant with his older brother Liam at Royal Albert Dock Liverpool, whilst Lunyalita and Rosa’s Thai Cafe are among the eateries which have opened at the Grade I-listed site in the last 12 months.
