A significant rise in North West house prices could be good news for Liverpool’s first-time buyers, according to a local agent.
The latest residential forecast announced by property agent JLL predicts the region’s home values will see a 18.1% boost over the next five years.
The new report anticipates that Brexit uncertainty will dominate the UK housing market over the short to medium term but that the national market will remain reasonably strong – forecasting that prices will rise by 2% here in the region next year alone.
Despite the predicted rise, Nicki Boyle, senior sales negotiator at Bluerow Homes, believes the increase is good news for anyone looking to get on the housing ladder here in Liverpool.
Nicki says: “This is a golden opportunity for the region’s first-time buyers. With Brexit uncertainty and higher house prices causing buyers to delay such significant purchases, the housing market is now likely to slow.
“However, this could create enticing market conditions for those looking for their first home.
“The combination of lower interest rates and softer market conditions will certainly be very attractive to first-time buyers, and I would advise them to make the most of this opportunity.”
