A new restaurant specialising in ‘chicken and booze’ is heading to Liverpool ONE.
‘Yard & Coop’, which prides itself on its buttermilk fried chicken and five-scoop milkshakes, will open on Hannover Street this December.
Expected to create more than 40 jobs, the restaurant will be split over two levels, covering the ground floor and basement levels of the space.
A number of local artists have been commissioned to decorate the building’s interior with a range of drawings and installations focused on the brand’s fox character.
The new restaurant will also offer seating in uniquely themed chicken coops, which will work across two levels.
The first Yard & Coop restaurant was opened in Manchester’s Northern Quarter 18 months ago by Carl and Laura Morris.
Laura says: “We’re incredibly excited to join the Liverpool ONE family and have spent lots of time developing a space that we can feel really proud of.”
Carl adds: “When we started developing the menu for Yard & Coop, Laura was very passionate about the approach we should take.
“She has family in Kentucky and grew up around real southern food, so we knew buttermilk chicken would be the perfect choice. We taste tested over 250 recipes before we decided upon the perfect formula.”
