New images showcasing the proposed transformation of Wolstenholme Square have been unveiled, as Liverpool City Council’s planning committee prepares to rule on the £40 million scheme in early September.

The artistic renders show designs by city-based architects Falconer Chester Hall for the project, which would incorporate residential, commercial, leisure and retail spaces around two sides of the square, as well as a new passageway through to Seel Street.

Developer Elliot Group, which has also recently commenced ground investigation works on the £130m Heap’s Mill scheme and site clearance on a £25m Queensland Place student accommodation site elsewhere in Liverpoool, is behind the city centre proposals.

On the release of the images, Elliot Lawless of Elliot Group says: “As Liverpool grows more prosperous residents want to express that in the quality of their homes.  Even those seeking studio apartments demand the highest levels of design, fit-out and gadgetry and this development will take the market to the next level.”
