Legacie Developments and RWInvest have joined forces to become sponsors of the 2024 Football For Change (FFC) fundraising gala, taking place in Liverpool this weekend.
This year’s gala will feature performances by the band Texas and pop icon Paloma Faith, along with appearances from football legends such as FFC chairman Jamie Carragher, Liverpool FC star Trent Alexander-Arnold, Brighton’s James Milner and Leicester City defender Conor Coady.
FFC works to create pathways for young people facing social and economic challenges, by funding opportunities in education, training and sport. The initiative, in partnership with the Communities Foundation for Lancashire and Merseyside, uses the power of football to inspire young people to aim high and build brighter futures.
Sir Rod Stewart is the patron of FFC, which has raised £1.2million since its inception in 2021.
John Morley, CEO of Legacie, says: “We believe in creating opportunities for all, especially for young people facing challenges due to poverty so supporting Football For Change is a natural partnership for us.
“It allows us to contribute directly to the lives of these young individuals, helping them realise their potential and build a better future. It’s a core part of who we are as a company.”
Conor Coady, Leicester City defender and one of the founding members of FFC, adds: “It’s fantastic to see companies like Legacie and RWInvest stepping up to support the work of Football For Change.”
The 2024 Football For Change gala will take place on Saturday 2 November, bringing together sports stars, business leaders and community advocates for an evening of celebration and fundraising.
It is the first time the event has taken place in Liverpool since 2021, following two successful fundraising events in Manchester in 2022 and 2023. Global online fashion retailer SHEIN and Destinology Holidays are also backing this year’s star-studded event.
