Labour Party Shadow Minister Bill Esterson MP has helped Legacie kick off construction at its £200 million regeneration scheme on the edge of Liverpool city centre.
The Sefton Central MP assisted the Liverpool developer begin building work on ‘The Gateway’ site on Leeds Street, which will deliver 656 one, two and three-bedroom luxury apartments spread across four towers.
The project will sit within the emerging ‘Northern Quarter’ area which is adjacent to the city’s central business district.
The Leeds Street development will feature a state-of-the-art garden spa, complete with an infrared sauna, swimming pool, ice bath, oxygen chamber, and experience showers. There will also be two gyms, two resident lounges complete with a cinema room, landscaped gardens, coffee shop and convenience store and other commercial amenities.
The complex will be of a similar scale to Legacie’s award-winning Parliament Square development which is located on the edge of the Baltic Triangle.
Legacie says its proposals will help breathe new life into a site which has stood vacant for several years and forms part of its exciting expansion plan, with several high-profile projects in the pipeline.
Construction of The Gateway will help create more than 250 local jobs and 25 apprenticeships.
Bill Esterson MP says: “I am very pleased to see the contribution being made to our country by businesses run by my constituents. Building new homes and creating jobs and training opportunities are the foundations for a stronger, more prosperous economy.
“Legacie and RWinvest is a powerful partnership and working at pace to deliver quality accommodation not just in Liverpool but across the UK.
“It was great to break ground at The Gateway, which will be a fantastic new development for the Liverpool City Region and I’m looking forward to seeing this being built.”
John Morley, CEO of Legacie, adds: “It was fantastic to welcome Bill Esterson to The Gateway as we officially begin work to bring forward four residential towers on the edge of Liverpool city centre.
“The site has lay vacant for far too long, and I am pleased that we have stepped forward with a scheme that will be a catalyst for further regeneration, provide an economic boost and deliver something the city can be proud of.”
International sales agent, RWinvest, has once again partnered with Legacie to promote the scheme.
Michael Gledhill, director at RWinvest, adds: “The Gateway will be a stunning addition to Liverpool’s buoyant housing offer.
“With world class facilities on site, it will form a key part of the emerging Northern Quarter and help attract further investment as we continue to see huge demand for luxury living in the city.
“We are looking forward to working with our partners to bring this scheme to life.”
