LHT joins campaign to support Liverpool’s elderly this winter

Local housing association Liverpool Housing Trust (LHT) has joined a campaign to support elderly residents across the Liverpool City Region during the colder months.

LHT, which manages over 11,000 homes across Merseyside and Cheshire, is taking part in the annual Winter Survival Campaign campaign, which aims to tackle fuel poverty and provide winter essentials to those who need it most.

Winter survival packs containing blankets, thermos flasks, a thermometer, socks, scarves, hats, gloves and non-perishable food items will be handed out, and residents will also receive support and advice on how to stay warm during winter.

The Winter Survival Campaign, which is backed by 16 local authorities and housing associations across the city region, has grown year-on-year, helping more than 1,000 people in 2015.

Set up by Liverpool-based charity Local Solutions, the campaign has been running for over a decade.
