Schools out once again and to make sure boredom doesn’t make way for bickering and bad tempers, we’ve got you covered with our selection of the best events to keep your kids entertained all week.

Spooky Welly Walk 

22 October & 29 October
Sefton Park / Sherdley Park

The fun and frightful charity walk, in aid of the Roy Castle Foundation, returns this year at not one but two locations. The Spooky Welly Walk will once again take place in Sefton Park on Saturday 22 October while a week later the event heads to Sherdley Park in St Helens for more Halloween fun. So don your scariest costume and prepare for plenty of tricks and treats.

Tickets are £4 for adults and children while under 2s go free.

 

Around the World in a Day

24 October
Wigwam, Rose Lane

Kid-friendly eatery Wigwam is taking your little ones on a round the world trip with this fun event which sees children learn all about the different countries of the world and enjoy a range of interactive activities. The day begins at 10am with an hour long Le Petit Atelier Francais (Little French Workshop) which includes French class and continental breakfast for £5. The rest of the day’s activities are free.

 

Hot Wheels Family Fun Day

26 October
Smyths, New Mersey Shopping Park, Speke

Give your boy (and girl) racers the chance to show off their skills, for free, at the Hot Wheels Family Fun Day. The toy brand is touring toy shops across the UK giving Hot Wheels fans the chance to race cars, build tracks and use the Hot Wheels Ultimate Garage.

The event heads to Smyths on New Mersey Retail Park, Speke on Wednesday 26 October.

 

Spooktacular Halloween Party at The Witches’ Hotel Magnificent.

22 – 30 October
Tatton Park, Knutsford

Join Roald Dahl’s Witches as Tatton Park’s Old Hall is transformed into the Hotel Magnificent. Help find the children who have been turned into mice in the daunting mansion, grab a conker and take part in the creepy conker challenge at the farm or go hunting for witches in the gardens.

Tickets are priced at £6 for adults and £4 for children (4 – 15 years). A family ticket (two adults and up to three children) is available for £16.

 

Apple Day

27 October
National Wildflower Centre, Court Hey Park, Knowsley

Join the team at the National Wildflower Centre as they mark the start of harvest season with plenty of outdoor activities including apple pressing, apple art and apple crumble making. The RSPB will also be in attendance with some feathery friends. And head to the Cornflower Cafe afterwards for a special harvest menu.

Entry charge is £2 per adult with up to two children free.

 

Spooktastic Halloween Night

28, 29, 30 & 31 October
Croxteth Hall, Croxteth Hall Lane

Four nights of Halloween fun at the ever so atmospheric Croxteth Hall. There’ll be spooky entertainment, games for the children and a bar for the adults. There’s also a costume competition with awards for both parents and kids.

Tickets are £15 and under 2s go free.
