The British Music Experience’s launch exhibitions have been confirmed ahead of its opening in the first-class passenger lounge of Liverpool’s Cunard Building next month.
The waterfront attraction will display rock and pop memorabilia spanning the period from the end of the Second World War to the present day.
Highlights from the collection include Beatles artefacts, outfits made famous by David Bowie and Oasis star Noel Gallagher’s Epiphone Union Jack Sheraton guitar.
There will also be a display dedicated to 1950s rock ‘n roll star Buddy Holly, which includes his famous ‘London Fog’ jacket and Lifetime Achievement Grammy award, among other items.
Artists from the modern age will be represented, with instruments and equipment used by the Arctic Monkeys and Robbie Williams on display alongside handwritten lyrics from Adele and Coldplay.
Visitors can also enjoy interactive installations and learn about popular dance crazes across the decades, play a range of Gibson guitars and attempt to create their own mixes in a studio simulation.
The British Music Experience will also have its own stage area which promises to host pop-up live shows in the future.
The attraction will open on 9 March with tickets now available in advance.
