Michael Rosen‘s Liverpool ONE exhibition ‘Bear Hunt, Chocolate Cake and Bad Things’ has closed down indefinitely after sustaining weather damage.

Organisers The Reader and Discover Children’s Story Centre have confirmed that the interactive experience based on the author’s work had to be discontinued after “key elements” were lost during Storm Doris.

They said in a statement: “We regret to inform that due to the extent of the damage caused by Storm Doris today, we have had to close Michael Rosen’s ‘Bear Hunt, Chocolate Cake & Bad Things’ experience at Liverpool ONE.

“Thankfully no-one was present in the exhibition when the damage was sustained but due to the loss of some of the key elements on site, the exhibition cannot continue at present.

“As you can imagine, The Reader, Discover Children’s Story Centre and our other exhibition partners are absolutely devastated by this news but the safety of our staff and visitors is our first concern.

“We are currently in the process of contacting customers with tickets who are affected and will then take some time to assess the options available to us. We will post an update on our website as soon as we have any more news.”

The organisers have vowed to contact each customer who has ordered tickets for ‘Bear Hunt’ individually, but those with any concerns are advised to email storybarn@thereader.org.uk.
