Liverpool’s San Carlo restaurant is set to close for 12 weeks as it undergoes a £3.5 million makeover.
The new aesthetic will see a “dramatic” shift from the current black and red interiors to more modern surroundings that “ooze opulence and sophistication”.
San Carlo Restaurant Group has announced the Castle Street venue will close its doors on 2 January 2023 in order for the project to take place which will involve stripping out the eatery’s entire interior, altering the layout, and adding a brand-new private dining room.
Marcello Distefano, managing director of San Carlo Restaurant Group, says: “Our Liverpool venue has held a special place within our group and the city has been so good to us over the years; we’ve built up an incredibly loyal customer base of city dwellers, tourists, famous faces and sports stars.
“We are very excited that Liverpool will be the first of our new look San Carlo restaurants; our much-loved venue will undergo a complete facelift, transforming the aesthetic into the most breathtakingly beautiful modern setting.
“We look forward to inviting in diners old and new to experience a new phase for us which will boast the same sophistication and charm as ever before combined with a stunning new look.’
