Plans to build 198 new apartments on land between Sefton Street and Caryl Street have been submitted to Liverpool City Council.

Applicant Eloquent Global is looking to transform a vacant plot into a mix of one and two-bedroom homes across two buildings.

Proposals also include new ground floor office space as well as 110 car parking spaces, 198 cycle parking spaces and an internal courtyard.

A six-storey building will accommodate 95 of the new properties and an eight-story building will include 103 under the plans.

According to a planning document by Roman Summer Associates Ltd on behalf of the applicant, nine of the new homes will be two-bedroom duplex apartments while 147 will be one-bedroom homes and the remaining 42 will be two-bedroom properties.

It says the plans, which would occupy the previously developed site if given the go-ahead, will “have regard to local context, materiality and the best of local distinctiveness, looking to set a benchmark for design quality and style in this locality”.
