Plans have been revealed for a new housing development near John Lennon Airport in South Liverpool.

Peel Investments has unveiled proposals to build 185 homes on a parcel of land bound by Speke Hall Avenue, Hale Road and Dunlop Road.

The company has submitted an application for outline planning permission at the site after consulting with local residents and giving them the chance to provide feedback on the proposals.

The application submitted to Liverpool City Council includes a masterplan mapping out the proposed scheme (below).

A statement issued to the council’s planning department reads: “The illustrative development mix comprises a range of house types to complement surrounding residential development and to address local market demand.

“It comprises a range of one-bed apartments, two-bed terraces, two and three-bed semi-detached, three and four bed detached and four bed town houses. 37% of the illustrative housing mix comprises two-bed terraces and 39% comprises three-bed semi-detached properties.”

The proposed scheme will comprise a range of two, two and a half and three-storey dwellings reflecting the character of the surrounding residential development.

Peel acquired the site in question, which largely consists of disused playing fields, in 1999.
