New plans for student accommodation on the site of the former Copperas Hill Police Station in Liverpool have been revealed.

Carpenter Investments, the firm behind a 355-bedroom student scheme on Hardman Street, wants to build a nine-storey block.

Proposals submitted to Liverpool City Council by the property developer/investor and landlord include 294 bedrooms in 35 cluster groups.

The site, bounded by Copperas Hill, Moor Place, Greek Street and Marquis Street, currently consists of the old police station, which would be demolished, and a car park.

Myrtle Street-based Carpenter Investments, the parent company of L7 Architects, Carpenter Build and Urban Sleep, has developed a number of schemes across the North West including the four-star Hope Street Hotel.

Developer Study Inn was awarded planning permission for a student scheme on the same site in August 2017 and Liverpool is still listed as a ‘coming soon’ location on its website.
