A new £250 million triple tower development in Liverpool will make its mark on the city’s famous skyline, according to its architect.

Speaking after the scheme was granted planning permission yesterday (18 April), Adam Hall of Falconer Chester Hall hails the visual impact the Pall Mall project will have on the city centre.

He says: “The plans changed radically from the original outline designs revealed in June last year following a number of design workshops with the city council and the consented proposals will bolster the city’s changing skyline.

“This is Liverpool reaching for the sky, and with a quality that befits such an ambitious place.”

Ranging between 27, 33 and 39 storeys, the triple tower scheme will be Liverpool’s largest single housing project, comprising 1,002 apartments, a triple-height luxury spa, gym and pool as well as more than 10,000 sq ft of commercial space.

Other features will include a private lounge, dining rooms, cinema and meeting spaces along with a private garden level set at 7m above ground with views of the River Mersey.

The tallest of the three towers will reach 403ft, offering views of the Lake District to the north and Mount Snowdon to the west.

The triple tower complex was given the green light at Liverpool City Council’s latest planning committee meeting, along with a number of other residential schemes.

Ovatus 1 – a £35m, 27 storey tower comprising 168 residential units within the buffer zone boundary of Liverpool’s World Heritage Site – was also rubber stamped by the local authority, with construction work set to commence in September.

Outside of the city centre, proposals to transform the former Bankfield College in Tuebrook into 98 residential apartments with gym and concierge were approved, along with plans to convert the Swainbank building in Everton into a complex of 400 residential units with ground floor commercial space.

Meanwhile, plans to demolish a bungalow at 440 Allerton Road and erect six two-bed flats in its place were approved, as well as proposals for three apartment blocks in Kirkdale containing 381 residential units with communal and commercial space on the ground floor.
