Liverpool Shopping Park expansion complete as two new tenants sign up

Work has now completed on the £11 million expansion of Liverpool Shopping Park, with two new lettings secured – meaning the latest phase is now fully let.

Managed by Derwent Estates on behalf of the Albert Gubay Charitable Foundation, the development adds 71,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space to the Edge Lane site.

Wagamama and Wingstop are the latest tenants to take space, each agreeing 15-year leases for 3,000 sq ft restaurant units. They will join a new Nando’s, which is set to open this autumn.

In the past week, Tesla launched a new 20,000 sq ft car showroom, and Five Guys opened the doors to its new drive-thru restaurant. Costa Coffee is finalising work on its own drive-thru, due to open in September. Earlier this summer, Hollywood Bowl reopened following an extensive refurbishment and expansion, creating a new 35,000 sq ft bowling and leisure facility.

James Maule-Ffinch, asset management director at Derwent Estates, says: “The continued success of the park and interest from other operators looking to capitalise in the popularity of this retail and leisure destination has meant that we are considering new plans for further expansion in the not too distant future.”

ATP Planning is the planning consultant advising Derwent Estates with RGP the architect and Drees & Sommer the employer’s agent. McMullen Real Estate and CSP are the retained letting agents for the scheme.
