One of Liverpool’s most unique pubs will serve up its final pint tomorrow night (9 April).

The team behind Liverpool ONE Bridewell have decided not to renew the building’s lease after five years in charge of the Campbell Square venue.

Paul Fitzgerald, event manager at Liverpool ONE Bridewell, says: “It’s been a hell of a ride over the last five years.

“We have met a lot of great people during our time here and we are very grateful to the support we have had from everyone.

“We are proud to leave a great record behind us and a great name.

“The area has changed a lot over the time we’ve been here and we’ve just decided that enough is enough and that it’s time to go.”

Located in a Grade II-listed former jail and police station, the Bridewell is well known for its four original cells where patrons can enjoy a distinctive drinking experience.

The Bridewell held its annual ‘Me Ma’s Great Scouse Off’ competition during Global Scouse Day (GSD) in February, where locals were encouraged to enter their version of the famous stew with the winner decided by a celebrity judging panel.
