Mencap Liverpool comedy night returns to the city in May

Liverpool learning disability charity Mencap has announced that its comedy night is returning to the city next month.

Local standup Sam Avery will headline the evening of laughter, supported by Ben Turner, Adam Rowe, Adam Staunton, and MC Dave Twentyman.

Admission is priced at £10 and all proceeds will be used to support the work of Mencap Liverpool, which provides services for local adults with learning difficulties and those on the autism spectrum.

Barclays staff from the local contact centre in Wavertree are supporting the event.

Mencap Liverpool chief executive, Sarah Jones, says: “Our comedy night is a really popular event which raises lots of much needed funds.  It gives everyone the chance to have a laugh and the money we raise makes a big difference to the work we can do with local people who have a learning disability.  I can’t wait for this year!”

The 3rd Annual Mencap Liverpool Comedy Night will take place on Wednesday 18 May at LEAF on Bold Street from 7pm.

Tickets are available through the Eventbrite website, which charges a booking fee, or Mencap Liverpool’s office on Lydia Ann Street.
