The Waterboys announce Liverpool Empire date for 2015

Iconic rock band The Waterboys, whose hits have been released by Ellie Goulding, Prince and a host of Hollywood movies, will play at the Liverpool Empire on 22 November 2015.

The group is touring the UK to celebrate the launch of their 11th album, Modern Blues, and tickets for the Liverpool show will go on sale on Thursday 4 December for ATG Theatre Card members, before general sales begin on Friday 5 December.

The band’s new lineup includes Muscle Shoals legend David Hood on bass, Austin guitar-slinger Zach Ernst, and Memphis keyboard wizard Brother Paul and will bring its unique blend of rock and roll with a southern soul influence to the Liverpool venue. New music will be played alongside with a selection of the band’s back catalogue, which includes hit songs such as ‘The Whole of the Moon’ and ‘How Long Will I Love You’.

‘The Whole of the Moon’ was performed by Prince in 2014 and Waterboys songs have featured in a host of Hollywood films including About Time, Dom Hemingway and What We Did On Our Holiday.

Waterboys tickets at the Liverpool Empire are priced at £29.50 and £33.50. The performance will take place on Sunday 22 November 2015 at 7.30pm.
