A new club launched beneath Heebie Jeebies over the weekend marking the reopening of the Seel Street venue’s basement.

EBGBS, which is a new venture from the team behind Heebies, The Jacaranda and Jacaranda Records, held a VIP party on Friday (16 September) to mark its arrival.

EBGBS houses a biker-inspired chill-out bar called Lone Wolf as well as a club room, which will play host to events including long-running indie night Liquidation, Gigantic, Shush Silent Disco and Ministry of Sound evenings.

Drawing influence from the site’s 200-year history, the new bar combines the underground feel of Heebie Jeebies with a high-tech sound system, neon signage and graffiti-inspired artwork

The launch night featured breakdancers, Vogue performers from The House of Suarez, fire dancers and live music from local bands.

EBGBS opened its doors to the public from 11pm on the launch night and will operate seven days a week, serving an assortment of drinks from bottled beers to uniquely crafted cocktails.

Highlights from the cocktail menu include the American bourbon-based Route 66, the syrup-heavy Dunkin’ Donuts and house favourite the Lone Wolf, which combines jagermeister, sarsaparilla and ginger beer.

Joe Maryanji of EBGBS tells Your Move: “The response to the launch of EBGBS has been absolutely unbelievable. On the Saturday we had the very first Liquidation and the turnout was fantastic. I don’t think people expected what we have done down there to be as thoroughly executed as it was.

“The bar was ramshackle full until 3am and the atmosphere down there was amazing. Our bespoke cocktails also went down well with the punters.”
