Taskers is set to return to Formby this week after an eight-year absence, with the opening of a new 8,000 sq ft home store on Altcar Road.

The family-run retailer will open the new branch on Thursday 27 August, taking over the former Formby Cycles premises.

The store will stock a selection of furniture, lighting, pictures and mirrors, rugs and home accessories, including a number of ranges currently available at Taskers’ flagship Aintree store.

Three existing members of staff from Formby Cycles will remain at the site, while the opening has also created four new jobs.

The new branch marks a return to Formby for Taskers, which previously operated in the town, and forms part of the company’s wider expansion across the Liverpool City Region.

Oliver Tasker, director at Taskers, says: “Returning to Formby is something we’re incredibly excited about. The new store will give us the opportunity to bring Taskers closer to customers in the area, and we’re looking forward to opening the doors and welcoming everyone in.”

Taskers has been trading in Liverpool since 1958 and remains a family-run business.

To mark the opening, the retailer will be offering 10% off across its Formby and Aintree stores, as well as online, over the Bank Holiday weekend using the code AUG10.
