Event | Winter Fayre
3 December, Heebie Jeebies & E.B.G.B.S
Heebie Jeebies and its basement venue E.B.G.B.S play host to a Christmas event with a difference as the Winter Fayre takes place.
Held over the two floors, the fayre will feature independent stalls, interactive decoration-making workshops and plenty of family fun upstairs. Meanwhile downstairs will be the ‘den of debauchery’ featuring tattoo artists, alternative clothing brands and gothic jewellery – not to mention some taxidermy!
There’ll also be hot and cold food stalls in the venue’s courtyard. Guests are asked to give a small donation on the door which will go to the Whitechapel Centre.

21 & 22 December, St George’s Hall
It’s the festive classic that never fails to disappoint as Charles Dickens captures the true meaning of Christmas through the tale of Ebenezer Scrooge.
And what better way to hear it in all its glory than a performance by Dickens’ great, great grandson. Gerald Dickens returns to St George’s Hall to deliver his critically acclaimed performance of ‘A Christmas Carol’.
Each time Mr Dickens performs in the region the shows sell out, so get in quick if you want to witness this mesmerising performance. Tickets £19.50.

Since emerging on the music scene with their self-titled debut album in 2002, The Coral have released a host of successful records and cemented themselves as one of the region’s best loved exports.
After a five-year hiatus the boys are back with a new album and will be bringing their psychedelia tinged indie rock to Liverpool’s Olympia for one night only. Tickets £22.50.

DJ and producer Andy Carthy – or Mr Scruff to his legions of fans – comes to The Merchant on Boxing Night with his eclectic musical style. Known for his quirky animations and for playing sets which last upwards of six hours, the DJ has built up a huge following since starting out back in 1994 and this gig is expected to be a sell-out.
Expect a marathon session featuring jazz, soul, hip hop, funk, disco, deep house, reggae, afrobeat, latin, electro, techno and new wave tunes. Tickets £10.
