Packed musical finale for Bandstand Festival

Following the weekend’s spectacular LIMF festivities, Sefton Park will once again play host to a stellar line-up of music on Saturday (5 September) as the city’s Bandstand Festival reaches its finale.

Legendary Liverpool rockers Clinic will headline a packed programme of free performances on the bandstand throughout the afternoon, which will also feature acts including Daniel Saleh, The Shipbuilders, Liverpool Ukulele Orchestra, Simply Dylan, Alex Gavaghan and Mamatung. DJ Walrus Said will provide entertainment throughout.

Ahead of performing at the event, Clinic says: “We’re really looking forward to our bandstand appearance. The bandstand gigs are a great idea and it’s good to be a part of it.”

Then on Sunday (6 September), the closing Bandstand Festival performances will continue in Liverpool’s Stanley Park, when live music is accompanied by dancing and promotion of health and wellbeing in a programme by Soul Inspired Events.

An interactive yoga workshop will be followed by bandstand appearances by Akademix Dance, Rosh, Jess Kemp, Xtine, Katy Alex and Amique. DJ Vinnie will also provide music throughout.

The Bandstand Festival is commissioned by Liverpool City Council and co-ordinated by Open Culture, as part of the Mayor of Liverpool’s strategy to animate parks.

Chris Herstad Carney, Bandstand Festival project manager at Open Culture, says: “It’s been our most exciting Bandstand Festival yet and this huge weekend to round things off is your last chance this summer to enjoy music and activities at the fantastic Sefton and Stanley Park.”
