Liverpool will host the annual Physical Theatre Festival 2015 in various venues across the city, such as The Bluecoat and the Unity Theatre.

Between 22 – 30 May 2015, workshops, events and shows that showcase the world and workings of physical theatre will take place across the city. Some 40 events will see some of the best artists from all over the globe perform, with companies and performers coming from places such as Spain and Italy, alongside home grown talent.

One-woman show Pact with Pointlessness at the Unity Theatre, which deals with the issue of bouncing back after tough times, kicks off the annual celebration of physical theatre on 22 May, while other events include all elements of physical theatre, from simple dance choreography, to clowning, mime and the use of imagery during performance.

Other highlights include Honky Tonk Hideaway, and From the Cradle to the Bin at the Unity Theatre and one-man clowning show, Faruchio Peru is Extraordinare at The Bluecoat on 24 May.

Artistic director of Physical Fest Elinor Randle says: “Last year was a milestone for Tmesis Theatre and Physical Fest with it being the 10th Anniversary; an incredible achievement and testament to the artists and everyone involved, and of course the people of Liverpool that have supported us and made it possible for us to come back year after year.”

The festival plays host to over 40 events over the week, including performance, street theatre and social events. There will also be workshops and interactive sessions throughout the week.

The eight-day spectacle will end on the 30th of May with several performances and classes at the Unity Theatre, topped off with an after party to celebrate the end of the festival itself.
