Supermarket Aldi is looking to spread a little cheer to frontline workers by donating goodwill packages to NHS staff to use as and when they need.
Parcels containing teas, coffees and biscuits were sent as a thank-you from Aldi to the hundreds of doctors, nurses and support teams working tirelessly to care for those in need across Liverpool during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The packages will be distributed not only to Royal Liverpool University Hospital but also to Aintree University Hospital and Broadgreen Hospital as well.
Ian Stenton, head of sustainability (jointly leading on corporate donations) at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, says: “We’re really thankful to receive this donation from Aldi, to help support our staff and to show that people are thinking about them and grateful for their incredible work.
“We’ve been amazed at the generous donations we’ve received from businesses and from local people who’ve contributed to our funding request. I’ve had feedback from staff to say how touched they are at the support they’ve been receiving.”
