Another Starbucks for city centre?

Liverpool city centre could be about to get another Starbucks.

Cafe Fortune Ltd has submitted a planning application to Liverpool City Council for permission to erect Starbucks signage on a building opposite Liverpool Central train station.

The building in question is the former Santander bank on Ranelagh Street, which has lain vacant since the bank closed in 2014.

Plans to turn the listed building into a pub and flats were approved in March 2016 – it’s not known what has become of this venture.

Last February, franchise partner Cafe Fortune opened a Starbucks on Myrtle Parade.

If the Starbucks were to open it would become the global chain’s eighth in Liverpool city centre.
