The Princes Building on Dale Street could become 35 serviced apartments, with an independent coffee shop and a restaurant on the ground floor.

According to Your Move sources, there are plans to turn the 19th century, five-storey property into 35 serviced apartments in the main Princes Building. The ground floor, which is currently taken up by an electronics store and a pharmacy, will be converted into an independent coffee shop and a restaurant. Meanwhile, the basement will house a small gym for residents of the apartments.

The scheme could also include the conversion of the four-storey Cheapside Warehouse, built in 1884, to the rear of the Princes Building into an upmarket hostel with 45 ‘pads’.

The property currently has planning permission for offices in the upper parts and retail use for the ground floor, meaning any new scheme would need to obtain the correct planning permissions before work could begin.
